    Alrighty. So. If you want to publish a book, you need an International Standard Book Number, a little doohickey like this: This little beauty will have to be on the cover of your book somewhere. It's required if you want to sell and distribute your books (or any written publication, really, although there are some exceptions).     Writer advice: do short stories!

    Most writers hope to one day be published. As a friend of mine said: 'everyone's a writer, but to be an author you have to put your work out there for people to see.' So how do you get published? I don't know the definitive answer, but I know this: short stories help increase your exposure and lend you credibility as a writer.
